Conditions We Treat

Craviotto Chiropractic treats most spine and joint related nerve pain and discomfort.  Whether your condition is due to an Injury or just strain from normal day-to-day activity, we can effectively treat your condition.  Dr. John, together with your help, will create an effective chiropractic treatment plan suited to your particular ailment.

Nerve & Muscle Pain

Did you know that most nerve and muscle pain is related to spinal dysfunction? Chiropractors are the best at relieving spinal dysfunction.  Nerve and muscle pain can also indicate other problems that your chiropractor can treat.  Even children can have nerve related pain that keeps them from running and playing normally.  We've treated thousands of these conditions successfully.  Fibromyalgia or migraine headaches are just two examples of nerve and muscle related conditions that respond well to chiropractic manipulation.

Auto Accident / Whiplash

The sudden force of a collision can cause serious injury to neck, back and even limbs, such as shoulder and knee. After such an injury, it is wise to seek immediate care from a qualified health care professional who can determine the extent of your injuries. Physical examination is performed first, followed by x-rays if necessary.  Treatments can vary depending upon the type and extent of injury. Chiropractic care is a valuable treatment for non-surgical injuries. Dr. Craviotto has been treating these types of injuries for over 30 years with great success.  Unfortunately, some chronic patients do not seek treatment for years following an injury. Some think it will heal by itself.  If it heals at all, it often does not heal well.  Some people do not seek help due to financial reasons. You should know that most accidents are covered by the medical portion of your auto insurance policy.  Even if you do not have insurance, we may be able to accommodate you with a reasonable plan.  Please call and discuss the options with our office.

Work Injuries

We are happy to work with your employer and your workers compensation company to get you back on your feet again.

Sports Injuries

We treat all sports injuries--skiing, baseball , football, tennis, swimming, golf, hang-gliding, rock climbing.  We not only treat neck and back injuries, but shoulder, knee, hip, ankle, elbow, wrist, hand, virtually every joint in your body. Chiropractic treatment will help you heal faster and more thoroughly.  Did you know that even an ankle sprain will heal faster with proper alignment of the talus--a bone in the foot?

Preventative Care

We also offer routine preventative chiropractic adjustments to keep your spine and body maintained properly. Preventative chiropractic care is helpful for nearly everyone. Our bodies are not only susceptible to injury, they are susceptible to normal day-to-day strain. Even gravity plays its part. Monthly or bi-monthly chiropractic visits may stop a minor condition from becoming more serious. Chiropractic is a natural health care.   Regular treatments may even replace pain medication in some cases.

The Art of the Chiropractor

The Art of Chiropractic Body Alignment

Your entire skeletal structure has a natural and healthy alignment if it is formed properly by nature.

When an injury occurs, that alignment of bone structure may be throw-off, and the surrounding muscles and ligaments may tense-up to hold the injured area in a fixed position, trying to prevent further injury.  While this fixed position may be a good temporary safeguard, it can become problematic.  Injuries often cause a misalignment of the spine or neck or even a limb joint, shoulder, knee, ankle.  Muscles holding this fixed position can exacerbate the injury.  If this misalignment and muscle tension remain untreated for a length of time, the result is often severe pain (nerve pain) and can even lead to serious degeneration of a joint or vertebrae.

Skill of the Chiropractor

It is the skill of the chiropractor to correct these misalignments through physical adjustments and also to relax the muscle tension.  The use of message or electrical muscle stimulation are common methods of relaxing the muscles after or before a treatment.

Self Help

While an injury may require several chiropractic treatments during the healing process, there are several things a patient can do to help their condition.  Stretching, walking, icing (ice, ice pack) or heat treatment (heating pad, hot water bottle, hot shower, hot jacuzzi).  Certain supplements may also help.

Chiropractic Tools

There are also chiropractic tools available.  Orthotic shoe inserts can help correct a misalignment in the foot which may be causing a walking or standing problem.  The orthotic aligns the bottom of the foot which supports the entire body, ankle, knee, hip and back—the whole column.

Another  chiropractic tool is the cervical pillow.  This pillow is designed to maintain the natural curvature of your neck while lying on your back or sleeping.

The reason these tools are so effective is that they support the natural and proper alignment of your body, which nature may fail to do at times.  While an injury is healing and even after it is healed, it is wise to support the alignments by whatever means possible, for as long as possible.
